Maybe there's absolutely no need to do this and that in some cases it might mess stuff up. We have found some standard checksum problems: 1) The company that wrote the game couldn't code a checksum routine properly. Most games don't bother, so it really doesn't matter what the checksum in the header says. In the 27MBit example this would mirror the 1MBit part once to match the 2MBit part, then mirror the returned 4MBit part once to match the 8MBit part. Also, since the Genesis doesn't checksum the cart, it is up to the code in the cart to checksum itself. I found another folder with the same rom before the checksum fix and the music worked. In your 20MBit example the sub-checksum is for 4MBit, so this would be added four times to match the 16MBit part. If uCON64 displays the text Checksum: Bad. Also be warned that save states also keep the data of your in-game saves, so if you wish to reply on both, save in-game before making a save state. Q9: I have a SNES ROM of which GoodSNES says it is good, but uCON64 says it is bad. So I found a tool that fixes checksums, which I just assumed should be cleaned up, why not? Might help games run when they might otherwise not. I tested the emulator on OpenSUSE and the same error ocurred. Hello From my SNES ROM collection, there are 2 ROMs that unfortunately dont work with Snes9x.
